Title: USB over Network and virtual PC
Post by barbilor on Nov 18th, 2005, 2:52pm
hi,
I tried the client part on USB over Network under a Virtual Machine (Virtual PC) with Windows XP SP2.
It allows me to connect to the host machine (where the server runs and where I've shared an USB memory), connect to the USB memory and then Windows XP SP2 tells me that it cannot start the driver.

I think that your product is great togheter with VPC (that at the moment doesn't support USB), and I really would like to know if it's possible.

To resolve this problem you can try to install (enable) USB Host Controller in your virtual PC.

Unfortunately MS Virtual PC (at least v5.3.582) doesn't support USB devices at all and USB Host Controller correspondingly so our USB  over Network program will not work.

We suggest you to use VMware instead of MS Virtual PC but USB over Network will work on VMware with USB Host Controller enabled ONLY.

Good news! Latest 2.5.3 version of USB over Network has to work with MS Virtual PC now because latest version does not require of installed USB Host Controller in virtual environment.
