HP All-In-One (AIO) devices

I've got an HP AIO (printer-scanner-fax) in the basement connected to an XP Pro machine.
I can use the client to connect to it and the client side machine running XP Pro 'sees' the device and XP auto-installs everything BUT an 'Unknown device'. The 'imaging device' (scanner) is installed and listed as normal but, applications can't actually reach it. Printing function is normal.

This does not happen when directly connected via USB so it would stand to reason something's not being passed correctly.

My primary reason for using for tool is that the 'server' machine connected to the printer can't run HP's software because the CPU 'doesn't meet the minimum requirements' which really means it can't identify it (the system runs on a mini-ITX board with a non-Intel CPU).

Here's some info from the Device Manager as seen by the client:

Location: on Officejet 5600 series (DOT4USB)
Device Instance ID: DOT4USB\VID_03F0&PID_4F11&REV_0100&MI_02&DOT4\3&30E0BDFF&0&1
Hardware IDs: DOT4USB\Vid_03f0&Pid_4f11&Rev_0100&MI_02&DOT4
Compatible IDs: DOT4DEVICE
Enumerator: DOT4USB
Capabilities:
   CM_DEVCAP_RAWDEVICEOK
   CM_DEVCAP_SURPRISEREMOVALOK
DevNode Flags:
   DN_DRIVER_LOADED
   DN_STARTED
   DN_DISABLEABLE
   DN_NT_ENUMERATOR
   DN_NT_DRIVER
Current Power State: D3
Power Capabilities:
   PDCAP_D0_SUPPORTED
   PDCAP_D3_SUPPORTED
Power State Mappings:
   S0 -> D0
   S1 -> D0
   S2 -> D0
   S3 -> D0
   S4 -> D3
   S5 -> D3

Any help?
