Title: slow and unreliable Post by david on Dec 13th, 2005, 9:07pm I have just downloaded the demo version of the port redirectopr. I have a POS printer connected via ethernet and i am attempting to send data out com2. I have tried both MSDOS to copy a preformatted binary file to the printer. i have also used the send text fiile function of hyperterminal. With hyper terminal the sending of text data is reliable but very slow. There is a definate pause between each line. With MSDOS the data is sent quickly and the printer prints as as a result, however the printer does not always recieve a complete print job. Like ther is a timeout or handshake problem. This software ( or the function it claims to provide ) is very usefull for Star Micronics as we have so many customers who want to use ethernet to connect POS printers. there software however will only talk to a serail device. If this works reliably we would be interested in purchasing this software on an OEM basis. |
